Canon 3000 ex

Hi everyone!

My father-in-law bought an iBook and wants to use his Canon scanner (3000 ex) with it. It didn't work right away (he probably meant the buttons), so he asked me what to do. I looked for a driver but can only find Windows ones although there are Mac manuals. Now what can I do?

I thought about using Image capture. Does anyone know if this will work? I prefer having the software. Does anyone have it or know where I can download it?

Or do you have any other ideas or comments that help me?

Sorry to bump this one, but I also wrote to Canon support and didn't even receive an answer yet (although they say it takes 2-3 busines days...). I really like to get this one resolved.

According to Canon your scanner is only supported by windows.

Hmm, thanks. I was looking for a page like this but couldn't find it. Not what I wanted to hear though.

Does anyone know if there are other possibilities to use the scanner (VueScan, for example)?
