I just got my Canon HF10 yesterday and it is a cool little device. I have a couple of question regarding editing the HD content.

When you import video from the HF10 into iMovie I believe it converts to a different format so it can be edited. My question is when you export footage from iMovie how can you preserve the quality like if I film in cinemode and 24fps? Do I export to .mpv/h.264 so it will play in Quicktime? Will the quality be preserved? I want to be able to preserve as much of the HD quality after it is edited. The import portion is easy enough to understand but I want to be sure on how to export so I have a HD file.

I want to know this, too. I'm getting a Mac soon and I have the Canon HF 100.
When will Macs support native AVCHD like Sone Vegas Pro?

Wait a minute, I'll just get my crystal ball out . . . :D

Ok, I'm waiting...What does your ball say? :)
In the mean time, maybe yu could suggest optimal h.264 output from iMovie for HD playback on the PS3.
Cheers.
