You have to play with your settings
I shot the fireworks display at disney world with that camera last year and it looked amazing.. You must run through the different presets to see what you get. I found using the snow or sunset preset worked best for me. I always shoot in 24p it captures light better then the other settings in low light conditions. I am in a rock band also and I suggest you use a manual iris setting on the camera. with lots of bright light flares you will find your iris will shut down quickly but it takes a bit to get it open back up if your using auto iris. This camera gave me true black no grain and great fireworks footage that I use for stock footage in my other edits. Hope this helps you a little.
