canon ip4000 not printing as well on mac as pc

Hi, I have just bought a canon ip4000, and from illustrator it prints great on a pc at full quality, but when I try to do the same on a mac i get a much lower quality print. I go into the quality & media section and set it to the highest! how come this is happening! Thanks in advance for any help!

I dunno if this will help but after your done editing your photos, print them from the canon easy photo print software that comes on the disk with the drivers. I find it a lot easier to print out photos from that program and the quality has been superb.
