I purchased this scanner from Amazon a few months back and have done some very light scanning since I purchased it. This weekend I scanned several hundreds of documents and since I was staring endlessly at my monitor, I noticed that a bluish-green tint was showing up on the left side from top to bottom of all the scans I had been doing in color photo mode or any mode involving color. The scans I did in black and white were devoid of this, I think obviously because there was no color present.

I contacted Canon's email support and was quite surprised to see that they were working this weekend and had answered my emails. Their first response was for me to unplug the scanner from my computer, turn the scanner lock on/off several times and restart the computer. They said this will reset the scanner. I followed the instructions and still have the same result. I emailed Canon back and they told me I needed to send my scanner in and have it replaced with a refurbished one. Well, I am not a refurbished kind of guy so I said the heck with that. I will just delete the software and reinstall it tomorrow and see if that helps. If not then I will have to get a new scanner eventually.

I was curious if anyone else has experienced this with a Canon scanner or any scanner in general. Perhaps there is some simple tip that someone can give me that could possibly be the cause of this and how to fix it.
