Canon MP480 + Airport Express = No Wireless Scanning?

hi all

just got a new multifunction
have it plugged into my airport extreme across the room

wireless printing, fine
but no wireless scanning

is this typical behavior?
is there any workaround?

help...

I don't think airport express supports scanning at all, just printing. You are not alone.

terribly ****ing annoying
you would think that as it can support an external hd, it could support data transfer both ways... oh well...
guess i need a longer usb cable...

I agree it's pretty annoying. It seems like most consumer printers these days are multifunction devices so it would be great if there was a way to make this work. I wonder if anyone has a clever workaround?
