Has anybody succeeded in getting the scanner on a Canon MP600 working on 10.6? Even the latest 2.3 Canon driver update has not helped, I've downloaded and installed drivers from the Canon site on numerous occasions, all to no effect.

Canon customer services were all but useless, I am beginning to believe I am left with an oversized and overpriced printer.

Hi - had the same problem and your thread came up on a google search.

Here's how I resolved it:

I downloaded ScanGear CS for OSX from:

http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010396.asp

One minor word of caution. On the Image Capture screen there is a check box - Detect Separate Items - which comes pre-selected. This appears to break down the image into separate components and save each to a separate file. My document was quite a detailed form so the scanner was whirring away for ages until I realised what was going on. Make sure you uncheck the box!

I'm far from being a techie and I'm also new to the Mac so there may be other solutions. Good luck!
