Ok so I have a Canon Optura XI that my dad gave me. I cant get it to upload videos via firewire to iMovie 9 iMovie HD or Final Cut Express. In system profiler it says the following: FireWire Bus:

Warning: Unable to list FireWire devices.
Maximum Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec
I know the firewire bus on my computer isnt burned out because I tried it with a hdd and it worked. I think all the settings on my camera are correct.

Any help would be great!

The two things to try, assuming that the bus hardware really is ok, would be a new firewire cable--I assume you're using a 4-6 pin adapter on the camera--and to make sure you've got the camera in whatever mode it needs to be in to feed data to the computer. I've not worked with Canon cameras until the flash era, so I don't know if it's any different than my Sony.

hmm?

I am going to get a new firewire in the next couple of days. It says that it is mac compatible on the website so it must be either fire-wire cable or a burnt out four pin port. Any other suggestions?
