Canon PIXMA MP990 - does it print directly to DVD?

Hi,

Looking for anybody who owns the Canon PIXMA MP990 multifunction printer.

the Canon website says that this machine can print directly to CD/DVD.

I have read about ten reviews and no mention of this feature is made.

Can anyone confirm for me that it does print to DVD?

I'd better take my four year old Pixma iP5200 back then as it's defective. It's been happily printing DVDs ever since the day I bought it.

The wife's MP990 prints DVD's fine, too.

No Canon made *for the US market* will print on CDs.

But Canons for Europe will.

Perhaps the reviews you read are for USA 990s.

So if it says it will, why would you ask if it will?

one reason why online reviews cannot be relied on 100%. Hence, why I ask for help from actual owners

I am just about to buy one.

I had the same searching issue re CD/DVD printing as the initial review and Canon sites that come up are US ones that don't indicate this feature. Luckily, I don't live there...

Is the MP990 that you bought is from Europe or in the US? Since you live in England and US
Does it have tray that you can just put the CD/DvD on and print it directly? Furthermore, if anyone who live in the US and have this printer can you confirm about the tray?
I am about to buy one too and I'm in the US and cannot find any info about that ability. Thank you.
