Has anyone got a work around for the Canon IPF500 printer.

I need to get this working, but waiting for new driver to be released from Canon.

Anyone know any temporary fixes?

Thanks.

I have a canon P9000 MKII and I too am waiting for the release of the new drivers. I tried all sorts of work arounds to get that puppy to print. In the end, I restored my leopard backup and shelved SL until I get those drivers in hand.

Give it time, canon will release them. Don't forget, apple threw everyone a curve by releasing SL early. Many of the vendors were putting the final touches on their drivers/apps for an october release and boom, apple unleashes snow leopard in August.

Apple didn't throw anyone under the bus. Beta loads of SL have been available for months. While it is understandable for major applications to need additional time for a SL re write it does not take that long for a driver fix, as can be seen by HP, Samsung and others providing drivers on launch day.

As to the specific issue, I have posted a detailed workaround to load older Leopard drivers for Canon printers onto Snow Leopard and it works.

Lastly, Canon started releasing updated drivers Tuesday night. Most printers now have SL drivers.
