Canon scanner quits immediately after having scanned a doc

Hello,

my iMac and Canon scanner "aren't friendly" with each other. Only the very first time I succeeded to obtain my scanned doc saved as pdf. Later on the scanner simply started quitting after having scanned the doc. Could anyone, please, advise me on how to solve this issue?

Google using your exact canon model number ("canon scanner" isnt exactly informative ) to look for issues
check the canon support web site for updated drivers and known bugs
