Canon TX1 + Mac OS X: How to import audio?

This is rather embarrassing.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to import audio recordings from my Canon TX1 to my MacBook (running OS X 10.4.11).

Pics and videos are accessible via iPhoto, of course, but audio recordings ("audio" here means "audio only") are not.

Naturally, iTunes doesn't recognize the TX1.

And, since no TX1 volume/folder appears on the desktop or in Finder, I'm totally stumped as to how, exactly, one gains access to the audio files.

Any help much appreciated!
