Canon VIXIA HF10 iMovie importing problem

So I have a Canon VIXIA HF10 and I have in the past used Final Cut Express 4 with it, which has worked fine. I decided to use iMove for a short project that I didn't care about and when I try to import it in it loads and then gives me a red error message right below the picture of the clip.
Why?
Please help
