I am going to shoot with the Canon XH A1 this Friday, and have to digitize the material immediately, as I have to return the camera the same day.

I hope it will only be one cassette.

What settings should I use if I record with 1080/25f?

Frame Size: 1440x1080 (16:9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD (1440x1080) - Anamorphic 16:9 yes or no?
Field Dominance: None?
Compressor: HDV 1080p or ProRes?

Or don't you recommend using the Canon XH A1 to shoot in Full Frame Mode (as it is not really Progressive)?

Any input is much appreciated?

PS: Can it be done with a MacBook 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM - (only capture, editing will be done on a higher desktop iMac, which can easily edit HDV material)?

Do an easy set up and capture it as HDV 1080p25. If you're going to be doing a lot of effects, capture it as ProRes over firewire, however note that if you do this, you will not be able to batch capture later if something goes wrong.
