Canopus does not register on comp

I am using a thing called canopus to take video from my xbox360 and put it on my mac to put on youtube. I connected the xbox 360 video cables to the input on canopus and then I connected the firewire thingy from the canopus to my macbook and it does not register the firewire like it does on my other mac desktop. How do I get the video to my macbook? (I know i gave a vague and crappy description of the problem and I suck with computers but if anyone knows what I'm talking about that would be great) Thanks

It sounds like you're using a Canopus (ADVC) Analog to Digital Video Converter. You're going to need to access it via an video editing application like iMovie to capture video.
