I bought a La Cie drive which works great and moved both my iphoto library and itunes on to it-no problems. Both work fine on there own. But I can't access the iphoto library directly from imovie. In imovie I had to export the image from iphoto to a location on the mac hard drive and then import into imovie.
I'm sure its something very simple but its driving me crazy.
