I connected my iPod and synced it with iTunes with no problems. I then minimised iTunes and disconnected the iPod from Finder. Several minute later i try to launch iTunes again and it wouldn't respond, force quitting didn't help either.

So i log out and log back in and this time iTunes launches but won't access my library and i get the following message

Any ideas what this is?

PS i checked all the files in iTunes folder and they're all set to read and write
 
Hmm i was afraid you'd say that. I had a lenghty uptime going BUT i'll try rebooting now and see what happens.
 
Rebooted and although iTunes launced normally, my entire music folder was lost. Bottomline is i had to restore from my backup, thank God for backups.
