Hey everyone,

My first post but I've been lurking for quite some time.

Here's my problem:

Iphone is jailbroke. Using PDANET to tether (yes I know of the nasty txt messages etc) to my iMac. I cannot access the Itunes store. I have itunes 10 open, and when I try to sign in I get the One Moment Please itunes store is loading... That's all it does. I have zero access to the store itself.

I had found an obsecure post on a different message board claiming that you cannot access itunes on their 3g network. But this sort of doesn't make sense since I can access itunes store on my iphone....

Anyways was looking for any insight you guys might have.

Thanks

Oh btw

Itunes ver 10
OS: Snow Lep 10.6.7

Use PDANet toggle in SBSettings to disable PDANet daemon first before go to iTunes App Store.

Or manually edit /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.jft.pn.pdanet.plist
change program argument "RunAtLoad" to false and then run launchctl command "launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.jft.pn.pdanet.plist"

Remenber to reverse it back then load the plist when you want tethering.

Cheers.

Is your PDANET a free version? The free version doesn't support https website. I think App store maybe https.

My apologies I should have also pointed out that this is my first MAC and I'm not too familiar with doing tweaks at the moment lol. I'll give a go though in a bit.

Thanks for the response.

Yes I'm on the free version using the WiFi hotspot. This did cross my mind as well but after reading a bit more online I think https support runs out after the free trial expires. But I'll go ahead and get a license to give it a shot.

I'm gonna be taking my iMac over to a friends house who has a DSL connection to see if I can get to iTunes store that way. I'll respond again later with results of all suggestions.

Thanks again.

That's correct.

"The free edition will start blocking secure web sites (web sites that require login) after the 14-days-trial expiration."

If i were you then i would get tetherme.

I'll give tetherme a shot.

Just to update on my progress. I'm at a friends house hooked up to his DSL connection (downloading TF2!!). I am able to access Itunes from his DSL. BUT I'm not able to connect to the MAC App store. I wanted to upgrade to Lion but looks like that's not gonna happen in the immediate future.

So this is still a bit strange. I'm gonna install all the Mac updates and see if that changes anything.

So far though very glad I finally made the switch to Apple. I'm enjoying my new iMac. Although this is a bit frustrating it's actually helped me learn a lot more about operating and navigating through the Mac OSX. So I'm turning this into a positive exp!

Thanks again for reply's.

Just installed all updates for Imac OSX Snow Lep.

Using DSL I can

1. Access Itunes Store... Full functionality.
2. Cannot access Mac App store to download Lion.

Using PDANET I cannot

1. Access Itunes Store.
2. Access Mac App Store.

So strange... I'm going to try tetherme later tonight and see what I come up with.

Anyone having similar issues using regular broadband connection on their iMac?? Strange I can access iTunes but not the Mac App store.

Ok so to recap: I was finally able to access iTunes when I used my friends DSL.

I have returned home and fired PDANET up and now I can access iTunes but still cannot get into the Mac App store.

Not sure what this all means but maybe it helps anyone else out there that may run into the same problem.
