I just upgraded to the 8+ from my 6s. I just got the 8+ in the mail and I screwed up. I forgot to turn off the password on the 6s before I activated the new phone. Now the 6s wants my password but it doesn’t work on it. I tried plugging it in to my Mac and hard restarting the phone but it says theres a value missing.

Can I somehow reset or unlock the phone? I still want to use it for music and a camera.

Thanks for the help..

It's asking for the phone password or iCloud password?

You could try restoring the iPhone with iTunes. If it has "find my iPhone" enabled, you will need to enter your password during the activation process or the original PIN.

The thing is.. it won’t recognize the password. Once the new phone activated the old one no longer recognizes my log in.

This is so frustrating. I kept the old phone and passed on a $300 credit and now it’s useless.

Which password is it asking for: phone or icloud? Did you reset the 6s? Tried logging out of the 8?

I have been logged into 3 iPhones (6s, 6, and 7) using the same icloud account at the same time with no problems. I was logged into all three because I was in the process of buying used phones for family members and logged into my iCloud account to lock the phones to me.

Thanks, I got it. I shut off the new phone and the old one automatically rebooted.
