Can't Access Time Machine Backups before Yosemite Installation

[Simplicated]

I clean installed Yosemite on launch day and then I chose my backup drive as the backup destination, which includes backups dating back to February 2012. But I can't access any of the backups before the day I installed Yosemite. Is this happening to you?

I thought 10.10.1 was supposed to "resolve an issue that might prevent Time Machine from displaying older backups." Maybe this is an unrelated bug?
