Pre-ordered new iphone 6s on the Apple website to be used with my AT&T account. When ordering it APPLE asks me for my zip code and last 4 digits of my SSN so they can verify mi account with ATT. No problem, order goes through and Friday night I pick up my new phone!
Saturday I try to activate it, and again the phone asks me to confirm my phone number, and then asks for my zipcode and last 4 of SSN. This is where the problems start, I get a message reading AT&T can not verify the information you sent. Call 1-800-MY-IPHONE". Apple tells me it is ATT servers that have a problem, so I call ATT. ATT tries to activate my phone, but nothing happens, they suggest new SIM card, off to the ATT store. New sim card, same problem. Called Apple with the ATT guy, blaming game begins. Switch SIM cards again, nothing.
Apple tells me to go to the Apple store, an hour later, they look at the device. Nothing wrong on their side, it must be ATT, ( even though the phone tells me to call APPLE). 3 hours wasted, I go home.
Later in the evening, I call apple again, we reset the software, same problem. Now they tell me ATT need to unlock the phone, so go to another ATT store, nothing.
Call APPLE they don't know what to do, they blame ATT saying they have to verify it, ATT says all my info is correct, I've wasted most part of my day.
We ask apple if a new phone would fix it, they say maybe. Because I bought it through the apple website, ATT can't change the phone, APPLE store can't change the phone. APPLE doesn't want to change it because they think their product is good.
Call APPLE again, my case passes to a senior advisor, FINALLY after 8 hours they accept we can't trouble shoot the phone and it is on their side, but they have to research it. It will take 2 days before they can decide what is the next step. Now I have to wait.
In the meantime I am looking for a new Galaxy phone.
