can't add link to email signature, apple mail...

ny somewhere
i have several email signature images, with 'added' links. today, am trying to do new ones; same procedure, but the links don't 'stick', and when i send an email with any of the new signatures, there's no link when i click on the image.

is this working for others? and, any suggestions?
