can't add printer

After updating to 10.9.5 last week my iMac is getting less predicable and has to be rebooted several times. The printer stopped working today. So I tried the repair but no luck. So I deleted all printer drivers and now I can't add a printer. I've been using a Samsung ML-4050 which worked like a champ and still does on my PC with Win 8.1. How can I get my iMac to add the print driver.

This is crazy. After chasing my around without success I was ready to give up. Then I reconnected my older HP 4000 Laserjet and tried printing and low and behold Mavericks found the HP and the Samsung and now both work.
