can't backup (corrupt or not compatible)

here's a screenshot. I've reinstalled all my apple software multiple times, done multiple restarts, and it still has the same issue. All i want to do is back it up so I can restore but I don't want to lose all my stuff.

Try renaming your device to something different and try to back it up again.
Delete the faulty backups you have on iTunes.

renamed it, still no dice. and there are no backups to delete.

Remove iTunes and reinstall it.

You likely need to go into the folder manually and delete whatever remnants of a partial backup are there. These guys have some directions in the "during a sync or backup" section. https://deciphertools.com/blog/2014_08_22_my_iphone_backup_is_corrupt/
