So i am trying to add a website to the hosts file that I want to block on system level and I have added both the ipv4 & ipv6 addresses of this site as you can see from my screenshot but even then, I can easily surf into the site on Safari. How is this possible?
On Chrome, the site is blocked and I also tried it on a another browser with same result. It's only Safari that have this issue.
Blocking sites using the Hosts file is one way to block a site but not alway effective as you have found out. However, it may be easier to use a DNS service that provides a way to block sites. Try using "OpenDNS".

Yeah I guess that's another way to do it but I prefer not change my DNS because I have specific DNS from VPN provider that I need to use in router. Unfortunately there is no website block feature in my router so I need to find a way to solve this with the hosts file.
