hello, i have won an action on ebay for a non operational ibook 14" 1,2ghz. The problem with the machine is that i cant boot the OSx, it hang after the grey apple logo, and stays in the blue screen. First time i booted it it works normally, but only for this time.
i have also tried to boot from a CD like OSx 10.4 and Lubuntu, and the problem remains the same.
have also reset the PMU and the PRAM.
any idea what to do or try before leave it for pieces?

Thanks a lot.

It could be a bad hard drive, but that sounds like the symptoms of a bad logicboard to me.

If you get less and less farther each time in the boot cycle then that's probably why it is. Repeated use with a bad logicboard gives diminishing returns each time until finally it just won't come up at all.

i was thinking on the LB, so i will have to look for another one on ebay if a want this machine work well again...

thanks
