Ok, so right now, I will list the unfortunate series of events leading up to the bricking of my old iBook G3.

So I was trying to be able to run Classic mode under Tiger, but, me being lazy, I decided to forgo the process of backing up Tiger, installing Mac os 9, Reinstalling Tiger over Mac OS 9, Etc etc etc...

So I just dragged the System folder over from the install disk. It worked until it got to a certain point at the startup screen, where an error message popped up saying something about system software only working on the startup disk.
Now, this is where it gets really stupid.
Somehow, through some lapse of logical thinking, I decided that I could fix this by booting via Mac OS 9. So I set it as my target system folder, and Lo and Behold! Same problem.
So I thought, OK, this is alright, I'll just restart back in Tiger and try to install Mac OS 9 the hard way.
Well, it didn't work. Because the OS 9 folder was my target startup disk.

Fortunately though, I was able to locate a firewire cable and use it for Target Disk Mode. From here, I surmise I can probably edit some file, somewhere that dictates what the startup disk is.

Does anyone know if there is such a file, that determines what the startup folder is? Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: Ok so I'm trying to restore from an older image... We'll see how that goes...

Everything is back up and running A-OK, so nevermind.
