I have a MacBook OS X, and iTunes 10.2.2 (the latest version of iTunes). I just tried burning a CD, but all my MacBook does is eject it immediately. Here's what I do:

I simply open up iTunes, then I click File>Burn playlist to disc. After I click Ok, I insert a blank disc and patiently wait for the burning to begin. "Please insert blank disc..." keeps flashing in iTunes, but I keep waiting. After about 30 seconds, my MacBook spits the CD out!

The disc I have is a Memorex DVD+RDL, which is supported by my Mac. Please help!

I have also read this article, but I don't think it helped at all. http://support.apple.com/kb/TA44597?viewlocale=en_US

I think this is more of a hardware issue rather than an iTunes issue. Without iTunes open, put a blank disk in and wait. I'd bet it does the exact same thing even without iTunes open. In that case I'd check for a software update for the combo/superdrive, but really suspect it is (a) bad discs, or more likely (b) faulty combo/superdrive

What is a Combo and a Superdrive, and how can I update them?

a combodrive burns CD's and reads DVD's. A superdrive burns both CD's and DVD's. It is a physical hardware feature and isn't something updated via software

Interesting. Mine has started spitting out CDs after a minute of clunking noises. Any idea how much it would cost to have a new Combo Drive installed?
