Hey folks. Last week I got my first iPod, and as part of setting it up I updated to the latest version of iTunes. Since then, I haven't been able to burn a CD. Every time I try, I get the error message "Disc burner or software not found..."

In doing some searching, I read about Patchburn, and tried to install it, but it gave me a message saying it's no longer required with the later versions of OS X.

Any idea why iTunes stopped burning, and what could possibly be done about it?

When I try to use Finder, I get the message "This disc cannot be used because it is not recognized." I am using the exact same type of CD as I have been for burning. It only started after updating iTunes for my iPod.

I'm not sure about this.

It could be the media. Have you tried a different brand of CDs?

Or you could go to Preferences>Advanced>Burning> and then switch from "Maximum speed" to something slower. It's worth a try.
