Can't "capture" from my Canon HF 10

I have the power source plugged in, and usb cable attached. Can't capture my video though- PLEASE HELP! I'm trying in both Final Cut express version 4, and IMovie.

I'm surprised no one has stepped up to help you out.

Here is the procedure for transferring video from the Canon HF series.

1. Plug the power supply in.
2. Connect the USB cable between Mac and camera.
3. Switch the dial to video playback (the blue videocam icon).
4. Power up the videocam.
5. Choose USB connection to "PC/Printer".
6. Wait for camera to mount as a USB drive on the desktop.
7. Launch iMovie 09.
8. Import from camera.

If the camera is mounting on the desktop and iMovie is not recognising the videocam, you may have to upgrade to iMovie 09.
