Can't change color of signal or wifi bars

I just jailbreak my iPhone 5 yesterday and I tried today using winterboard themes to change the color of the signal bars, but after applying the theme and then respring nothing happens. I also tried changing the color of the wifi bars but that doesn't work either. The only thing I got to work was the transparent status bar.
