I am new to Garageband. I have made a couple of recordings and it went fine.
Today when I try to record, I cannot change the record level. I recorded anyway and it was way to low as the record level is set at 0.

I went to to New Project and Selected "Voice".
On the bottom right of the screen is "Recording Level". There is a button that normally you can move left to right. It is grayed out and will not move. Also right below it is "Automatic Level Control". It is grayed out and the box cannot be checked.

I am not sure why it is like this. never done this before. I went to Garageband preferences and thought some setting was switched off. I did not see anything.

Anyone have a clue?
