Can't change volume and network icons

I can't seem to be able to change the Macintosh HD and Network volume using the following:

Highlight (single click) the icon i like, right (ctrl) click the icon, select "Get Info", click and highlight the icon image at the very top, copy it (apple + c).

Highlight (single click) the drive i want to change, right (ctrl) click the icon, select "Get Info", click and highlight the icon image at the very top, press paste (apple + v).

It was working before but now i can't seem to change them. Other icons could be changed without any problems. Any idea what went wrong?:confused:
Im currently on 10.4.6
