I have an Airport Express and I set it on wireless N only 5Ghz, but for some reason my new MBA (mid 2012 model) won't connect. It connects fine if I select 2.4Ghz or on mixed, it just won't connect when it's set to 5Ghz. Anyone have any thoughts?

mine connects fine at 5GHz, check if u have enable MAC filtering on your router settings?

I'm using the Airport Express as a bridge, i.e. the Airport Express is connected via ethernet to my Linksys router. Could that be what's causing the problem? Again, it works fine when I select wireless N 2.4Ghz, it's only when I switch the setting to wireless N 5Ghz that my MBA is unable to connect.

Try using a different channel. Look in system profiler to find out which channels are supported by your MBA.

Is there another device using the Airport Express that does not support 5 GHz? Have you tried setting the AE to automatic?
