I installed Leopard on my Core 2 Duo Macbook on launch day and it's been flawless for the most part.
Unfortunately, with Leopard, Apple got rid of its 802.1x client, Internet Connect and replaced it with a more complex 802.1x client built into the Network Preferences.
What used to be a simple login process is now impossible. Has anybody had any luck logging into a Starbucks hotspot via 802.1x and Leopard?
Is there a way of connecting via WPA without having to use 802.1x?
And as a last resort, I'm willing to connect via T-Mobile's unencrypted hotspot connection and use a VPN. Can anybody recommend a good VPN service provider? I would prefer to use Leopard's included VPN client and have no problems paying 5 to 10 bucks per month for this service. I would rather do this than have a desktop running all the time at home.
Thanks.
