This is probably something really basic that I don't yet know. I just switched to a mbp from windows and i'm trying to connect it to a windows based apache server. This is on my local home network and both machines are in the same workgroup. I can see it on the network but when i try to connect to it as a server (cmd K) using http://servername/ it says that the server doesn't exist. When i try to browse to it using safari it says it can't find the server. However if i enter it's ip address it works fine. When i try connecting to it through cmdK with the ip address, that doesn't work.

Accessing it through my old system on windows works fine by using the server name. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
