Ok, this one has got me stumped. I can't connect to MSN or AIM with Proteus, Adium or the official clients on my new iMac. I've reinstalled all of them from scratch (originally they were transferred from my PowerBook), and still no go. Yahoo! and Google Talk work fine. I can still connect to AIM and MSN from my PowerBook using Proteus just fine. I've turned the firewall off, repaired permissions, etc. Any ideas?

(Also, disappointingly, Safari is crash-happy on this machine to the point of being absolutely unusuable.)

EDIT: Nevermind. Long story short, the router was set up to block all services except for web browsing for the IP address that my iMac obtained by DHCP. Previously another computer had that IP address. Everything's working fine now, except that Safari still crashes every few minutes.
