can't connect to my wifi

just got my MBP 13 and it will not allow me to connect to my wifi. I use a normal WEP encryption and have never had a problem connecting devices to it until today. If i remove my routers password it works just fine, however once I re add my password the mbp no longer connects. What is the problem here? My network settings in network status is a yellow light when trying to connect

Try to restart your router, reset your wifi settings. If it still can't connect, go and take a look if the mac's mac address is listed in the router admin page.

just registered my mac address and still nothing. also restarted. the 802.1X keeps authenticating endlessly if thats any help
