Some time ago I started getting this annoying message generated by the Internet Accounts preference panel:
Can't connect to the account "Hotmail"
Enter the password for user "xxxx@hotmail.com
The thing is that my Hotmail account works just fine from inside Mail. It is annoying that OSX is warning me all the time that I should check the password on this Hotmail account.
I have another Hotmail account configured on this system and it is working fine.
I have tried removing the affected Hotmail account from the Internet Accounts preference panel several times and have added it again, this removes all the messages from Mail and the system has to download them all again from the Hotmail servers, a real pain. This sometimes helps for a day or two but the error message comes back again. I have tried recreating the account from inside Mail instead of the Internet Accounts panel, none of these things have helped. Writing the correct password again on the dialog that pops up just gives me "unable to verify account name or password"
On this preference panel, the field Only Use With has only Mail checked for both my Hotmail accounts, Notes is not checked.
I appreciate your help with this. I can close the error message and ignore it but it is popping up after a while again. I have no idea where can I check for log messages about this error to try to understand what is going wrong and since my other Hotmail account is not showing any error message I don't know how to deal with this.
