I have noticed a new and very strange phenomenon on my 2018 MacBook Pro running Catalina
If I connect the Mac to my Elgato Thunderbolt dock before the Mac boots up, it can never connect to my WiFi network (my iPhones iPads have no problem). If I connect to WiFi first and then connect my dock, it works. Until if WiFi disconnects for some reason and I have to reconnect, then I unplug the thunderbolt dock and reboot my Mac.
Even if I’m not using the thunderbolt dock, sometimes my Mac refuses to connect to WiFi by citing “incorrect password” despite having the WiFi password managed by keychain.
I have been traveling for a long while, and this problem occurred as soon as I got home. Not sure if there was some sort of software update in the interim which introduced this bug. I have tried to forget then reconnect to my WiFi network. Needless to say, it all worked perfectly before.
