Can’t control sound from iPhone

Hi everyone.

I’m using an Apple TV (not the 4K one, the one just before) on a Sony television, model Bravia 2015.

I can adjust the sound volume with the tiny-super-sensitive-easily-lost Apple remote just fine, but for th live of me can’t get it to work with the remote app in the control Center of my phone.

Anybody has any idea?

I looked into this recently after having the same issue. Apparently some TVs will change volume when you use the physical volume buttons on the side of the iPhone with the Remote app open. For others there’s no way to adjust TV volume from your phone; you need to use the Siri remote.

Terrible design, I know.
