I just turned on my MacBook today and found that the spotlight icon in the top right hand corner was missing. I also found that i can't drag and drop anything on the dekstop, dock or inside any folders/windows etc. and also i can't copy and paste. Please help :(

Try rebooting in "Safe Boot" mode:

Reboot and when you hear the bong, immediately hold down the "Shift" key and keep holding it until you see the spinning gear on the grey screen. Then you can let go of the key. This boot takes longer.

Once the system is booted, you will be presented with a login screen with "Safe Boot" in red text. Either log in or use the restart button to do a normal boot.
