When I try to copy a music CD using the method of creating a DMG from the original CD and then burning that to a CD, the CD apears to burn just fine but in finder it shows up as empty, does not open in iTunes and when played on a CD player, it just acts like it is playing but no sound comes out (That is with my CD player, I only have one).
Is there a better way to copy a CD? Why does Mac not come with a "Copy CD" command?

Rip lossles with iTunes, then select the songs, make a playlist, then burn that playlist as an audio CD?
presumably creating dmg isn't actually taking off the copy protection.
