had older regular macbook, that dropped, wouldn't power on, no sounds/lights, local computer repair shop thinks it's the motherboard. Think it's time to upgrade.

I have my brothers macbook retina, and I took my hard drive off my old backbook and put it in a closure to copy my files to a portable. There are some folders it won't copy. For example system>previous systems>library, than all the folders in the library such as
address book plugins
bridge support
caches
colors
fonts
speech
user templates
etc.

Do I need any of these files? Or are they just default files/folders on a mac?
My actual school work, I was able to find under users>my username and I was able to transfer 150GBs of those onto my portable in about an hour. But the 4GB of folders mentioned above I keep getting error messages and it takes 6+hours of transferring before it quits on me.

Not sure if I need any of those or not??
