iPod Cant create a cd with songs from my ipod

Really pissing me off, since im off to a 7 hour drive tomorrow.
My griffin itrip decided to selfdestruct, so i have to rely on burning cds in itunes, though i cant do that either. I try to drag the songs over to the playlist i created for the cd, though im not allowed to do so, i dont get any error msgs, nothing happens.

i tried looking over all the settings,everything seemed correct, am i missing something ?

Yes.

iTunes lets you put songs on an iPod - not take them off it.

To create a CD you must drag songs to your playlist from your Library, not your iPod.
