Can't create an HTML email for Comcast without first switching to text formatting

When I use Safari to log into comcast.net to send and receive email, I can't type anything in the body of the a email until I change it from HTML to text formatting. I can type in text formatting and change it back to HTML formatting and it still works. I don't have to do this with Firefox. This wasn't a problem until a few weeks ago.

Has anyone else experienced this?
