I tried using this command from suggested by Apple to create a bootable USB installer. Unfortunately, the USB drive that I create with this command doesn't seem to be bootable. Any suggestions?

/Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia

Here's what I get on the USB after createinstallmedia finished

Don't know if it's the reason why it failed, maybe a typo but the createinstallmedia command needs a --volume argument.

Code:
Usage: createinstallmedia --volume <path to volume to convert> --applicationpath <path to Install OS X Mavericks.app> [--force]

Arguments
--volume, A path to a volume that can be unmounted and erased to create the install media.
--applicationpath, A path to copy of the OS installer application to create the bootable media from.
--nointeraction, Erase the disk pointed to by volume without prompting for confirmation.

OP:

Quit fooling with the terminal.
Try ONE of the following instead:
- Boot Buddy
- DiskMaker X
- Install Disk Creator
(all are free)

WARNING:
BEFORE you run the above, make a COPY of the installer app somewhere else for safekeeping.
I know that IDC will DELETE the installer when the USB flashdrive is complete.
Boot Buddy behaves better and will not.

Personal experience:
I used to use the terminal to create a bootable USB installer.
But after trying the above apps -- why bother?
