Hi,

I have the icns file to use for customizing my exFAT external hard drive. But every time I click the icon and drag the icns onto it (from the Get Info screen), I only see the default JPEG file icon. Some Googling seems to imply that it's related to permissions, but I cannot edit permissions in any way -- it only says "custom access" with no padlock or anything like that (screenshots attached below)

What would be causing this issue, and how can I change the icon properly? Is it impossible to change the icon for exFAT external drives? Would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.

I've always just copied an image, such as a JPG/GIF/PNG, clicked on Get Info, then clicked the icon to highlight the icon and pasted it. Not sure if that still works though.
