I've had the 2010 MBP 13", and sold it to upgrade. I bought the 2012 MBA 13" with 4GB RAM, sold it to check out PC variants (didn't work out). I have just bought the 2012 Pro, and while I like it, I'm having a hard time deciding which is the best value/better buy.
The screen is noticeably lower resolution, but the quality seems MUCH better than I can remember on my Air. I also only had 4GB on my Air, which would go down to 35mb or page out with ease. The Pro costed me $1,265 (CDN after tax), and the Air with 8GB would cost $1,422.
I mostly record on Garage Bang/Logic, browsing, etc. Note: I have a 22" IPS display external which I can use at home sometimes, and a powerful desktop PC. I need this mostly for school but need to use it all the time at the moment as hand problems disable me from using a mouse.
