Having a tough time deciding between two options. Faster processor and better graphics vs 1 TB SSD.

I currently have 256 SSD and it's way too small. I do a lot of design work using all of the Adobe CC suite, so 32 gigs is a must. I think I could get by with 512 as long as I keep my big projects on an external SSD.

So Option 1

  • 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 Six-Core
  • 32GB of 2400 MHz RAM | 512GB SSD
  • 15.4" 2880 x 1800 Retina Display
  • AMD Radeon Pro 560X GPU (4GB GGDR5)

Option 2

  • 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 Six-Core
  • 32GB of 2400 MHz RAM | 1TB SSD
  • 15.4" 2880 x 1800 Retina Display
  • AMD Radeon Pro 555X GPU (4GB GGDR5

Kind of depends on how you use storage. If you use a lot of it the chances are that you need more than 1TB so will be using external storage anyway. Are you constantly moving stuff to and from external storage each day and would 1TB of internal storage fix that?

That's my predicament. I actually use so much storage that all the big projects pretty much have to live on an external anyhow.

Do you really REALLY need all that storage space?
Do you really REALLY have the $$$ to toss away for it?

Then... buy whatever you wish!

If you DO "care about your money", get the smaller SSD, save a bundle, and use external USB3 storage for the stuff that doesn't get accessed that often.
A Samsung t5 drive would hit the spot for this.

I was eyeing the T5. I think that may be the best route to go for me (unless I really want to stick it to my company and get the 4TB SSD for $1 million dollars from apple ;)
